Proposal to Amalgamate Canvey Island Infant School and Nursery and Canvey Junior School

April 2026 Update

The consultation and statutory processes on the proposal to close Canvey Island Infant School and Nursery alongside the consultation to enlarge Canvey Junior School from 240 places to 420, plus 30 nursery places and to change the age range of pupils attending of the school from 7 to 11 to 3 to 11 years of age are complete. The Local Authority have now concluded the consultation period and its statutory processes and therefore the proposals above will be implemented.
